The Isle of Bute is served by two different ferry routes:

– Wemyss Bay – Rothesay
– Colintrive – Rhoboduch

Wemyss Bay – Rothesay.

Take a train from Glasgow Central Station to Wemyss Bay. The train journey takes approximately 50 minutes. The train is usually connected with the ferry which arrives in Rothesay , the major town on the Isle of Bute in 35 minutes. The Russian Tavern is situated 2 miles to the north from Rothesay. You can take bus N 490 which leaves every 30 minutes from the bus stop opposite the ferry terminal or a taxi from the ferry terminal.

Colintrive-Rhuboduch.

This route is accessible by car from Dunoon, Orban, Portavardi and . The crossing takes 10 min. and the ferry arrives to the Northern tip of the Isle of Bute. The drive to Port Bannatyne and The Russian tavern will take approximately 10 minutes.
