The Russian Tavern
|
The Tavern is a re-creation of a pre-Revolutionary style Russian Tavern with the authentic decor. The recipes for the food were carefully researched and are based on the imaginative creations of the French chefs who were working in XIX century St.Petersburg and Moscow. The dishes are prepared to order and include all traditional Russian ingredients: buckwheat, gherkins, marinated herring, and caviar, together with the best local Scottish ingredients: highland beef, freshly caught fish, langoustines and crabs. Herbs and wild fungi are gathered on the island. The food is served with freshly baked bread. A substantial course of salads is served with dinner. |

The range of drinks from the bar include varieties of flavoured Russian vodkas, Russian, German and Belgium ales, lagers and wheat beers, and Moldavian wines from the vineyards of The Tsar, including Champagnski. The Real Ales are from local breweries and poured straight from the casks on the bar. There is a piano and Russian musicians visit regularly. The Morning Advertiser "Great Pub Chefs"
